When Park View Health Center opened its new facility in 2008, space was at a premium.
"We needed additional square footage to better accommodate wheelchairs and other special equipment," says Margie Rankin, Park View Health Center administrator. "But we didn't have the flexibility in the budget to expand the rooms any further."
That's where the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation stepped in. Foundation staff suggested removing the old, boxy TV stands and purchasing sleek, wall-mounted flat screen TVs to free up valuable floor space for wheelchairs.
The Carl Ives and Guenther-Motz Funds provided $126,558 to purchase TVs, wall mounts and oversized remotes for Park View Health Center – improving mobility and overall quality of life for residents.
"It was an incredible solution," Rankin says. "We can't believe what a wonderful gift we were given."
