Many applications require organizations to include a budget worksheet and other supporting information. Program questions, population impact figures, and other metrics can take time to prepare. Review application instructions early, so you know what's expected for each grant.
Make it a good fit
You can't fit a round peg in a square hole. In other words, don't force your program to fit a grant category just because those funds are available now. Take some time to review our grant programs and find a funding solution that best fits your organization or project.
However, don't be afraid to think outside the box to reach different or untraditional populations. We fund several unique programs that require nonprofit organizations to think critically about underserved areas in our community.
For example, the Ladies Benevolent Society has funded the Oshkosh Area Humane Society in the past. Though the connection between elderly and animals isn't immediately apparent, the Humane Society proposed a grant that would help place adoptable animals in senior homes for companionship. A great program that serves a definite need!
